Maybe it was hilarious when your BFF snorted milk up her nose while laughing with her crush. But whatever you do, don’t laugh yet! Look at your friend’s face and take your cue from how she’s handling it. If she seems okay, you can both laugh it off and move on. That doesn’t mean, though, that it’s okay to keep reminding her of how funny it was. Even if she did laugh, she’s probably still embarrassed, and no one likes to be reminded of her most mortifying moments.

But what if she ends up barely holding back tears? Sometimes the best thing to do for an embarrassed friend is to go on as if nothing happened. Be the one person in the room who’s not laughing at her expense. As soon as you reasonably can, start talking about something else. If she brings up the incident later, reassure her that embarrassing stuff happens to everyone. Then tell her about the most embarrassing thing that ever happened to you. Or pull out the latest issue of DG and read the embarrassing moments together (they’re sure to be just as bad as hers, if not worse!).

And also once my friend and I were sitting across the table from each other and she found a piece of soggy wet bread and she was trying to aim in between me and one of our other friends the bread hit my forehead and it was really gross! :D

Snorty Dinner!

one night we had a family over for dinner and we were telling jokes. I was drinking apple juice and suddenly i laughed and it came out of my nose! I laughed it off and we all forgot about it that night. :D

Laugh it off!

Once it was really cold outside and my BFF wanted to get in the car, (I was with her!) and she ran over to the car alright…just the wrong one! The good thing was that she laughed it off! :)

Embarrassed

I’ve been Embarressed once because at lunch I through up hotdog and every body laughed instead of my BFF I learned that being embrarressed is quit weird but having friends there to help is very nice :-)

I Believe

If my friend was embarresed I would pull her aside and give her advice and then make her laugh If she still felt down I’d get creative and make her a card or something filled with her favorite things.

This is good advice. And your right DG! I mean, let’s say you were shopping with your friend for a shirt and once you found one and was walking to the checkout counter, you tear it in half! My friends don't get embarrassed

My friends never get embarrassed. My friends are mostly guys. They get embarrassed but they just laugh it off. I guess that is good, so I never have to deal with all the drama that comes from female friends.

My advice is....

Act like nothing happened. Simple, move on. Even if it was funny, your friend is embarrassed so try putting yourself in her shoes and think about how YOU would handle the situation. Be comforting to talk to because your friend is probably going to want to talk about it.

What's so funny

It depends on how embarassed she is, just like the article says. If she’s luaghing about it I’ll laugh with her. But if she looks super embarassed I’ll just pretend like nothing happened and talk about a new subject.

Lunch.... not a fan!!!

When me and my friend were getting out of the lunch line there was some slippery drink on the floor! Some of these cute boys were walking by so my friend didn’t notice the spill and slid across the floor!! And the boys just started laughing!! I felt so bad for her! I helped her up and her face was totally red.Her lunch was spilled all over her clothes!

Laughing at a friend while she’s embarrassed can embarrass her even more. You should try to avoid that.

Good advice!

I’ve had some friends that get seriously embrassed, and others that just laugh at themselfs and then later forget about it. I feel like I’m the kind of girl that gets really embrassed, but I don’t try to show it. I guess it just depends on the friend.
